Cutthroat Trout
This piece was one of my first attempts at using this particular style of mosaic. Picassiette, which means “stolen or broken plate,” uses broken plates, pottery, and recycled ceramics. It has become my favorite style, and I enjoy working with all the different textures and colors, which can make the subject jump right off the board.
Materials:
stained glass
pottery, shells and stone on wedi-board
mounted on old barn wood
Final mounted size: 14x28 inches
