Missouri Farmhouse

This piece was commissioned as a gift. The subject is a dearly loved family home in Missouri. I was given some photos, and we eventually agreed on this idea. I usually work with chunky broken pottery and dishes, but knowing that something like this needed straight edges to read correctly, I decided to use stained glass. Stained glass is an excellent material with many color options, both opaque and translucent, and can be cut straight. I used mirror as the substrate to give those glass pieces an internal glow.

Materials:
stained glass
mounted on mirror
in a wood frame

Final Mounted Size: 16” X 20”
